Rannie's career spans 26 years in hospitality and tourism, with 21 years spent in Singapore and 5 years in United Kingdom. He completed his diploma and degree in Hospitality Management in UK.
He has worked with established and luxury hotel groups such as Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts, Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts and Hyatt International.
During his career in hospitality and tourism, he held positions in senior management. He was Group Director of Sales and Marketing for Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts and was responsible for all marketing and sales operations worldwide. Under his leadership, sales for Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts achieved notable success. Prior to joining Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts, Rannie worked for Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts for eight years. He started as Regional Sales Director, and was responsible for heading up the operations for the regional sales office. He was responsible for the ASEAN market and generated growth of this market with a 50% increase in market share. Subsequently, he was invited to join the pre-opening team of Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort as Director of Sales & Marketing for the opening of this resort. Before that, Rannie was Assistant Director of Sales at Hyatt Regency Singapore, responsible for the Europe market.
He brings with him, a wealth of experience in sales and marketing. Rannie is currently lecturing at Pacific UniCollege for Diploma students in Hospitality and Management studies specializing in Food, Beverage and Restaurant operations. He is also a consultant and has assisted numerous hospitality groups in feasibility and analysis projects.
